I wrote Carolina in Crisis about the Southeast during this era and my first book, Fort Halifax, is about a French and Indian War site and its evolving history. For more stuff like this, sign up here.

Other Sites
There are French and Indian War sites I have not listed above, because:
they have been reconstructed to a later period (e.g., Fort Stanwix in New York)
the fort, or what remains of it, is on private property (e.g., Fort Van Meter, West Virginia)
the fort or site has been built over or demolished and/or there’s nothing more to see than plaques or historic markers (e.g., Fort Frederick, New York; Fort Venango, Pennsylvania)
all you can see today is ruins and/or there is no museum or visitor’s center (e.g., Fort Frontenac in Ontario)
Fort Wiki offers information on many (but not all) French and Indian War forts.
